YMCA Unplugged

MArch 2006

When I was at the gym the other day I realized that many of the people who work out are plugged into some type of music listening device. (mp3 player, iPod or CD player) I looked at these different people and started to wonder what it was that they were listening to.

It then occurred to me that it would be a cool idea to have "unplugged" days at the YMCA when we are working out. I think it would be so interesting to have people plug their music listening devices into the piped in music so we could all hear what type of music our fellow gym go-ers workout to.

Hmm... an idea for the suggestion box!

That's a great idea. I'm always wondering what some people are listening too. It's those who I know their music taste that I'd prefer to sometimes PLUG-IN their music. LOL

that could go very well, or very bad- imagine if the person had god awful music and then everyone was forced to listen to it the whole time just because they didn't want to offend.

CAD - It might be cool, huh?

DC: You are so right! I would definitely keep my iPod in my pocket and pull it out in musical emergencies like the one you described!

THanks for the comments on my blog. Well, I think it would be a super idea but then again, I can only imagine trying to lift weights to something like the Backstreet Boys or country music. It just might ruin the experience for me.
